Bursera Graveolens · Peru · Sustainably harvested · High-resin grade
Palo Santo — holy wood — is nature's original energy cleanser. Sourced directly from its native Peru, each stick is naturally rich in resin, producing a warm, sweet, citrusy smoke that has traditionally been used for clearing energy and setting positive intentions for centuries.
We select high-resin sticks specifically — the essential oil content is what determines the quality and longevity of the scent. Higher resin means more fragrance per burn, and many more ritual sessions from each stick.
What people use it for: smoke cleansing to clear a stagnant or heavy-feeling room, passing crystals and jewelry through the smoke to reset their energy, grounding before meditation, and as a natural aromatic air freshener that doesn't rely on synthetic fragrance. It solves the same basic need incense and sage answer — shifting the feel of a space quickly and naturally — but with the deeper, sweeter scent specific to Palo Santo wood.

Why high-resin matters
Palo Santo quality varies enormously. Low-resin sticks produce little smoke and weak scent. Our high-resin grade sticks are selected for their visible resin content — you can see and smell the difference from the moment you open the pack. One stick can last 20+ rituals when used correctly.

When to use Palo Santo
Morning ritual
Light before starting your day to set a positive intention and clear your mind. Takes less than 2 minutes.
Space clearing
Walk through a room with a lit stick to clear stagnant or heavy energy — after cleaning, after an argument, or whenever a space feels "off."
When you need a pause
Hold the stick, light it, and inhale slowly. The warm, woody scent helps you slow down and breathe.
Crystal care
Pass your crystals or bracelet through the smoke for 3–5 seconds to clear accumulated energy and reset their properties.
How to use
Tilt the stick downward at roughly 45 degrees, the wood pointing toward the flame. This is the fastest way to get a good ember going.
Hold a flame to the tip for 30–60 seconds until you see a red ember form. Don't blow it out the moment you see red — keep the flame on it for about 10 more seconds first. Pulling away too early is the most common reason a stick won't stay lit.
Blow gently until the flame extinguishes. The tip should glow orange and produce a thick, fragrant smoke. A brief puff of black smoke right after blowing out is normal — it clears within a second or two.
Wave the smoke around your body, room, or objects you want to cleanse. Hold over a Smudge Bowl to catch any falling ash. Fully lit, one burn gives you around 2–3 minutes of steady smoke.
Press the lit tip into a fireproof bowl to extinguish. Your stick is about 10cm — you don't need to burn through it in one sitting. Press it out any time, store it, and relight later. The same stick can be relit many times across many rituals.

Frequently asked
How long does one burn actually last?
When you light it correctly — flame held 10 seconds past the first red ember — a single burn gives you roughly 2–3 minutes of steady, fragrant smoke before it naturally goes out. That's enough for one pass through a room or a short ritual.
Why does my stick keep going out?
This is completely normal — Palo Santo is raw wood, not processed incense, and it's designed for short bursts rather than continuous burning. The most common cause is blowing out the flame too soon: once you see the red ember, hold the flame on it for a full 10 seconds more before you blow it out. Light at a 45-degree angle with the wood facing down for the fastest catch, and keep sticks dry — humidity makes wood much harder to light. If you need continuous smoke without any relighting, our Palo Santo Incense Cones burn uninterrupted for about 15 minutes from start to finish. See our full lighting guide for step-by-step help.
How many rituals can I get from one stick?
A high-resin stick can easily last 20 or more rituals. Each burn is short by design — around 2–3 minutes is enough to smudge a room or set an intention. You're only burning a small amount of the 10cm stick each time, and there's no need to use it all in one sitting — extinguish it, store it, and relight whenever you like.
Can Palo Santo help with stale smells?
It helps freshen a room — the sweet, woody scent that lingers after burning lifts musty, cooking, or stale smells. A pleasant natural alternative to synthetic air fresheners.
Is Palo Santo related to any specific religion?
No. While traditionally used in South American rituals, Palo Santo today is a universal tool for mindfulness and wellness. It is used by people of all backgrounds simply as a way to clear energy, ground themselves, and bring calm to a space.
Why is the 200g pack split into 4 sealed packs?
Keeping wood dry is key to maintaining the resin quality and scent potency — damp wood is noticeably harder to light. Individual 50g sealed packs ensure each portion stays fresh until you are ready to open it — especially important in Singapore's humid climate.
Palo Santo or sage — which should I get?
They suit different rituals — Palo Santo is sweeter and better for short, frequent sessions, while sage is stronger and suited to a single thorough clearing. See our full comparison guide to decide.
Materials + Care
Each item is close to its natural form — dried herbs, pure oils, hand-finished ceramics — so no two are perfectly identical, and that's intentional. Keep oils capped and away from direct light; store bundles and botanicals somewhere dry.
