Candle care — read before first burn
The first burn matters most
Allow the candle to burn for 1–2 hours on the first use, until the entire surface of wax has melted to the edges. Extinguishing too early creates a "tunnel" — a deep hole in the centre of the candle that prevents even burning on subsequent uses. This first burn sets the memory of the wax for the life of the candle.
Trim the wick before every burn
Keep the wood wick trimmed to 3–5mm before lighting. A longer wick creates a larger, unsteady flame and produces more soot.
Burn safely
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from drafts, flammable materials, pets, and children. Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
