Palo Santo — holy wood — is nature's original energy cleanser. Sourced directly from its native Peru, each stick is naturally rich in resin, producing a warm, sweet, citrusy smoke that has been used for clearing negative energy and setting positive intentions for centuries.
We select high-resin sticks specifically — the essential oil content is what determines the quality and longevity of the scent. Higher resin means more fragrance per burn, and many more ritual sessions from each stick.
Why high-resin matters
Palo Santo quality varies enormously. Low-resin sticks produce little smoke and weak scent. Our high-resin grade sticks are selected for their visible resin content — you can see and smell the difference from the moment you open the pack. One stick can last 20+ rituals when used correctly.

When to use Palo Santo
Morning ritual
Light before starting your day to set a positive intention and clear your mind. Takes less than 2 minutes.
After cleaning
Walk through freshly cleaned rooms with a lit stick to energetically refresh the space after physical cleaning.
When stressed
Hold the stick, light it, and inhale slowly. The warm, woody scent grounds the nervous system almost immediately.
Crystal care
Pass your crystals or bracelet through the smoke for 3–5 seconds to clear accumulated energy and reset their properties.
How to use
Tilt the stick downward at roughly 45 degrees. This helps the flame travel along the wood and create a good ember.
Hold a flame to the tip for 30–60 seconds. This step is crucial — raw wood needs time to build a proper ember. Do not rush it.
Blow gently until the flame extinguishes. The tip should glow orange and produce a thick, fragrant smoke.
Wave the smoke around your body, room, or objects you want to cleanse. Hold over a Smudge Bowl to catch any falling ash.
Press the lit tip into a fireproof bowl to extinguish. The same stick can be relit many times — each burn typically lasts 1–2 minutes, which is enough for a complete ritual.

Why does my stick keep going out?
This is completely normal — Palo Santo is raw wood, not processed incense. It is designed for short bursts of 1–2 minutes, not continuous burning. Light it, let it smolder for a minute or two, then extinguish and relight for the next round. If you need continuous smoke, our Palo Santo Incense Cones burn uninterrupted from start to finish.
How many rituals can I get from one stick?
A high-resin stick can easily last 20 or more rituals. Each burn is short by design — 1–2 minutes is enough to smudge a room or set an intention. You are burning a small amount of wood each time, so the stick lasts a very long time.
Can Palo Santo remove bad odours?
Yes — the natural oils in the wood are powerful deodorizers. The sweet, woody scent that lingers after burning effectively neutralises musty, cooking, or stale odours. It is one of the most pleasant natural air fresheners available.
Is Palo Santo related to any specific religion?
No. While traditionally used in South American rituals, Palo Santo today is a universal tool for mindfulness and wellness. It is used by people of all backgrounds simply as a way to clear energy, ground themselves, and bring calm to a space.
