Why Bulgarian peppermint specifically
Bulgaria's climate and long tradition of aromatic-plant cultivation — the same conditions that built its reputation in lavender and rose oil — also suit peppermint well, producing a mint oil with a rounder, less harsh menthol character than some mass-market sources. Sourcing single-origin means you know exactly which country's growing conditions shaped the oil in the bottle. The real substitution risk with peppermint isn't origin, though — it's species. How this differs from other "peppermint oil" on the market
- True peppermint vs. cornmint. A large share of budget "peppermint oil" is actually Mentha arvensis (cornmint) — a harsher, more menthol-heavy relative that's industrially dementholised and sometimes re-blended to mimic peppermint's scent. Ours is genuine Mentha piperita, with the rounder, sweeter mint profile true peppermint is known for.
- Not diluted. Ours is 100% undiluted essential oil, nothing added after distillation.
- Single origin, not a blended batch. Many brands blend peppermint from multiple countries and harvests for consistency. Ours is single-origin Bulgarian peppermint.
What "pure essential oil" actually means
Pure means exactly one thing: this bottle contains only steam-distilled peppermint oil — nothing else. No carrier oil, no synthetic reconstruction, no fragrance additives. Because it's a real agricultural extract, you may notice small, natural variations in scent intensity between harvests — a sign of authenticity, not inconsistency.
Ways to use it
Diffuser
3–5 drops per 100ml of water, or 20–30 drops in the Siphon Nebulizer — a sharp, energising scent for focus.
Inhalation
1 drop on a tissue or your palms, cup over your nose, and breathe deeply for a quick energy or focus reset.
Temple Rub
Dilute 1–2 drops per teaspoon of carrier oil and massage gently onto temples — a common way people use peppermint during a long afternoon.
Lava Stone
Drop 3–5 drops onto lava stones for 24–48 hours of passive, electricity-free fragrance.

Is this the same as the cheap peppermint oil I've seen elsewhere?
Probably not — a lot of low-cost "peppermint oil" is actually cornmint (Mentha arvensis), a harsher relative. This bottle is genuine Mentha piperita, true peppermint.
Is peppermint oil safe for children?
Peppermint oil, including menthol, is generally not recommended for infants and very young children due to the risk of breathing difficulty. Check with a pediatrician before using around young children.
Can I apply this directly to my skin?
Not undiluted. Mix 1–2 drops with a teaspoon of carrier oil first — peppermint is a strong, cooling oil and can irritate skin or eyes if used neat.
Is this safe for pets?
Peppermint oil can be harmful to cats and dogs. Always diffuse in a well-ventilated room and let pets leave if the scent seems too strong. Consult a vet if you have specific concerns.
