100% Pure · Undiluted · Single Origin · Italy · 10ml
Cold-pressed from Citrus sinensis grown in Italy — a burst of liquid sunshine with a rounder, less sharp sweetness than regular orange. One botanical, one origin, nothing added.
Why Italian blood orange specifically
Blood oranges are famously grown in Sicily, where volcanic soil around Mount Etna and sharp day-to-night temperature swings trigger the fruit's deep red pigmentation. That same growing environment gives the peel — where the essential oil comes from — an especially vivid, sun-ripened sweetness. Does the oil actually smell different from regular orange? We answer that honestly in Blood Orange vs Regular Orange Essential Oil — Is There Really a Difference?
How this differs from other "orange oil" on the market
- Blood orange vs. regular sweet orange. A lot of "orange oil" on the market is standard sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) sold without specifying the variety. Blood orange peel carries a rounder, jammier sweetness that regular orange oil doesn't have.
- Cold-pressed vs. folded/concentrated. Some cheaper citrus oils are "folded" (partially distilled to concentrate them, and to strip out compounds that oxidise quickly) which changes the scent profile. Ours is simple cold-pressed oil, unfolded.
- Not stretched with limonene. Because citrus oils are cheap to over-produce, some are extended with isolated limonene to increase yield. Ours is 100% blood orange, nothing added.
What "pure essential oil" actually means
Pure means exactly one thing: this bottle contains only cold-pressed blood orange oil — nothing else. No carrier oil, no synthetic reconstruction, no fragrance additives. Because it's a real agricultural extract, you may notice small, natural variations in scent intensity between harvests — a sign of authenticity, not inconsistency. Citrus oils also oxidise faster than woody or floral oils, so store this one away from light and heat and use it within a year of opening for the brightest scent.

Frequently asked
Does blood orange oil actually smell different from regular orange oil?
Yes, though subtly — blood orange tends to read as rounder and jammier, with less of the sharp, almost bitter top note you get from standard sweet orange. Both share the same core citrus character.
Is citrus oil safe to wear in the sun?
As a general precaution, avoid applying any cold-pressed citrus oil to skin before sun exposure, and always dilute before topical use.
Which diffuser pairs best with this oil?
For the strongest effect, use our Siphon Nebulizing Diffuser. For a gentler, ambient scent, use a Lava Stone Diffuser or a standard water diffuser.
Is this safe for pets?
Citrus essential oils can be harmful to cats in particular. Always diffuse in a well-ventilated room and let pets leave if the scent seems too strong. Consult a vet if you have specific concerns.
Materials + Care
Each item is close to its natural form — dried herbs, pure oils, hand-finished ceramics — so no two are perfectly identical, and that's intentional. Keep oils capped and away from direct light; store bundles and botanicals somewhere dry.
