Steam-distilled from Lavandula angustifolia grown in Bulgaria — one of the world's two benchmark origins for lavender oil, alongside France. One botanical, one origin, nothing added: no carrier oil, no synthetic fragrance, no filler.
Why Bulgarian lavender specifically
Bulgaria produces roughly a third of the world's lavender oil and has built its reputation as a premium origin over the last century, alongside France. Bulgarian lavender is widely regarded for a full, rounded scent profile with a strong natural balance of linalool and linalyl acetate — the two compounds most associated with lavender's calming effect. Sourcing single-origin Bulgarian lavender means you're getting a plant grown in one of the industry's most established and trusted regions, rather than an unnamed blend. Curious how it actually compares to French lavender? We break it down in Bulgarian vs French Lavender — What's the Real Difference?
How this differs from other "lavender oil" on the market
- It's not lavandin. Many budget "lavender oils" are actually Lavandula x intermedia (lavandin) — a lavender hybrid with a sharper, more camphorous edge and a much lower price. It smells related to lavender but chemically it's a different plant with a higher camphor content. Ours is true Lavandula angustifolia.
- It's not cut or pre-diluted. Some oils sold as "lavender oil" are stretched with a carrier oil or synthetic linalool to lower cost and increase yield. Ours is 100% undiluted essential oil — nothing added after distillation.
- It's single origin, not a blended batch. Many brands blend lavender from several countries and harvests to keep the scent consistent year to year. We use one origin — Bulgaria — so what you're smelling reflects that country's lavender, not a mixed batch.
What "pure essential oil" actually means
Pure means exactly one thing: this bottle contains only steam-distilled lavender oil — nothing else. No carrier oil to bulk up the volume, no synthetic reconstruction to standardise the scent, no fragrance additives. Because it's a real agricultural extract and not a lab-replicated formula, you may notice small, natural variations in scent intensity between harvests — that's a sign of authenticity, not inconsistency. It's also precisely why it needs to be diluted before it touches skin: a "fragrance oil" or pre-diluted blend is weak enough to use directly, but a true pure essential oil is concentrated enough that undiluted skin contact can irritate.
Ways to use it
Diffuser
3–5 drops per 100ml of water in a standard water diffuser, or 20–30 drops in the Siphon Nebulizer for undiluted diffusion — good for a bedtime wind-down routine.
Lava Stone
Drop 3–5 drops directly onto lava stones for 24–48 hours of passive, electricity-free fragrance — ideal on a nightstand.
Inhalation
Place 1 drop on a tissue or your palms, cup over your nose, and breathe deeply — a calm moment before bed.
Topical / Bath
Dilute 2–3 drops per teaspoon of carrier oil (jojoba, coconut, or sweet almond) before applying to skin, such as temples or wrists at bedtime. For bath, mix 5 drops with bath salts before adding to water — never add neat oil directly to bathwater.

Frequently asked
Is this the same as the cheap lavender oil I've seen elsewhere?
Probably not. A lot of low-cost "lavender oil" is actually lavandin (a lavender hybrid) or lavender cut with a carrier oil. This bottle is 100% pure, undiluted Lavandula angustifolia from a single Bulgarian origin — nothing blended in.
Can I apply this directly to my skin?
Not undiluted. Mix 2–3 drops with a teaspoon of carrier oil (jojoba, coconut, or sweet almond oil) first. Never apply undiluted essential oil near the eyes or on broken skin.
Which diffuser pairs best with this oil?
For the strongest effect, use our Siphon Nebulizing Diffuser — it atomises pure oil without water or heat, preserving full potency. For a gentler, ambient scent, use a Lava Stone Diffuser or a standard water diffuser.
Is lavender oil safe around pets?
Lavender is generally considered one of the gentler essential oils, but always diffuse in a well-ventilated room and make sure pets can leave the space if the scent feels too strong. Consult a vet if you have specific concerns, especially for cats.
Materials + Care
Each item is close to its natural form — dried herbs, pure oils, hand-finished ceramics — so no two are perfectly identical, and that's intentional. Keep oils capped and away from direct light; store bundles and botanicals somewhere dry.
