The story · 鹅梨帐中香

Pear Night is based on "E Li Zhang Zhong Xiang" (鹅梨帐中香), a classic recipe traditionally linked to the Southern Tang court and later recorded in Song Dynasty incense texts. Over 1,000 years on, it is still loved as an evening scent.

The Heritage Collection

Inspired by classic Chinese incense recipes once treasured by scholars and artists. Heritage sticks are longer (21cm), thinner and gentler than everyday incense. The aroma is soft and subtle — it settles into the room quietly instead of filling it all at once.

The scent

Fruity · Relax · Cozy
Goose pear juice, frankincense, amber, clove, agarwood and sandalwood — no added fragrance. Sweet, but never sugary.

Why you'll love it

• Fruity meets woody — the natural sweetness of goose pear, balanced by agarwood, sandalwood and warm spice.
• Our best seller — often praised in reviews as "the perfect bedtime scent."
• Long, slow burn — each 21cm stick burns for 30–40 minutes, a gentle way to wind down.
• Gift-ready — 55–60 sticks in a sturdy hard box, with a 9-hole brass holder included.

When to use it

• Evening wind-down — soft, sweet and settling.
• Bedtime reading — a cosy end to the day.
• Self-care nights — bath, skincare, slow time.
• Tea time — pairs beautifully with fruit and tea.

Pear or Oud?

Pear Night is sweet, fruity and cosy — easy to love and perfect for evenings. Silent Oud is deep, sweet and resinous, for quieter, more meditative moments.

How to use

• Light — light the tip and let it burn for a few seconds.
• Blow out — gently blow out the flame so only a glowing ember and smoke remain.
• Rest — insert the stick into the included brass holder.
• Enjoy — about 30–40 minutes of soft, slow-burning fragrance.

Frequently asked

Why is the scent so soft?
That's the Heritage style — thin sticks and a traditional recipe for a gentle, refined aroma rather than a strong, room-filling scent.

Does the brass holder fit these thin sticks?
Yes. The 9-hole brass holder fits 1.7mm sticks, and also works with thicker incense. For a longer ash catcher, try our wooden incense tray.
